Shares of TD Power Systems surged 5.4 percent to Rs 149.50 on Tuesday, outperforming the sector by 3.72 percent.

The micro-cap stock has been gaining for the last five days and has risen more than 47 percent during the period. For the year, the stock has posted negative returns, declining by 29.10 percent.

The stock quoted at Rs 148, higher by 4.37 percent at 3:00 PM on Tuesday.

The capital goods stock has traded higher than its 5 day, 20 day, 50 day and 100 day moving averages, but lower than 200 day moving average.

In an NSE filing, TD Power Systems Ltd has informed "the Exchange regarding daily report pursuant to Regulation 15(i) of the Buyback Regulations regarding the equity shares bought-back on October 15, 2018. Total no. of equity shares bought back are 162000."

Recently, MSD India Fund sold 2.36 lakh shares on October 9 at a price of Rs 96.79, according to information available on the exchange.

Meanwhile, benchmark indexes, the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty 50, traded higher. The Sensex jumped more than 300 points, or 0.84 percent, to trade at 35,156 at 3.10 pm. The Nifty also gained 74 points, or 0.70 percent, to trade at 10,586.
