CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower in holiday-truncated session

Dec 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

slightly lower on Tuesday in thin trading volumes, hurt by

telecom stocks, as investors clocked in for a half-day trading

session on Christmas Eve.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1431 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was down 30.11 points, or

0.12%, at 24,718.87.
