09:59 AM EDT, 07/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) said Tuesday that it has qualified the VR900 engine for its IM-2 lunar mission using an in-house test.

The engine completed a full-duration hot-fire test that confirmed increased engine performance following design modifications, the company said.

This engine qualification advances the development of the VR3500 engine for cargo delivery including lunar terrain vehicles and human spaceflight cargo resupply, the company said.

Shares of Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) were up 2.8% in recent trading.
