JetBlue Airways ( JBLU ) shares were down 28% in recent Tuesday trading after the company released its Q4 results and provided an outlook for 2025.
The airline reported a Q4 non-GAAP loss of $0.21 per diluted share, widening from a loss of $0.19 a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.29.
Operating revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 was $2.28 billion, down from $2.33 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $2.26 billion.
While the Q4 loss was narrower than expected, JetBlue ( JBLU ) said cost per available seat mile excluding fuel this year is expected to increase 5% to 7%. However, the company believes it can deliver a "positive operating margin" helped by continuing cost control efforts.
