10 stocks from Nifty50 and 28 stocks from Nifty 500 index touched their 52-week highs on NSE in Thursday's session as the early leads projected Narendra Modi-led NDA is set to win with a majority.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, Titan Company, HDFC, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Ultratech Cements, ICICI Bank, L&T, SBI, and Adani ports were the Nifty50 stocks that hit their 52-week high in trade today.

Among the Nifty500 stocks, PI Industries, Kalpatru Power, City Union Bank, Atul, Shree Cements, Muthoot Finance, Manappuram Finance, Fine Organics were some of the stocks that touched their 52-week high today.

Sensex and Nifty hit record highs, with Nifty topping 12,000 and Sensex crossing 40,000 for the first time. The BSE Sensex gained as much as 1,015 points to hit a new high of 40,125 surpassing the previous high of 39,571.73 hit on May 21. Meanwhile, Nifty also surged 303 points to hit a record high of 12,041, surpassing the previous high of 11,883, hit on May 21.

Overall, 15 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 15 were trading in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Zee, BPCL, YES Bank, and L&T were among the top gainers.
