Boeing Settles With Canadian Man Whose Family Died in 2019 Ethiopian Airlines Crash
Jul 14, 2025 8:28 AM

11:08 AM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) settled with a Canadian man whose family members died in the Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX crash in March 2019, a law firm which represented the man said Friday.

Clifford Law Offices said the settlement was for a "confidential amount."

Paul Njoroge's wife, 3 children and mother-in-law were killed in a crash minutes after takeoff from the Addis Ababa airport on March 10, 2019. 157 people were killed in the crash.

The trial and jury selection were scheduled to start on Monday in federal court in Chicago, when it was announced Friday afternoon that the parties had reached an agreement through the mediator.

Several cases are pending against the U.S. planemaker concerning two 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019.

The parties will be back in court on Wednesday to discuss the next Boeing ( BA ) cases that are set for trial on Nov. 3, Clifford Law Offices said.
