Creative Brands Acquires C.R. Gibson
Sep 16, 2025 8:13 AM

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Creative Brands of Phoenix, AZ has acquired the C.R. Gibson Company of Nashville, Tennessee.

C.R. Gibson, a leading manufacturer of fine gifts commemorating life’s celebrations, and preserving memories throughout the generations since 1850 has been acquired by Creative Brands, a subsidiary of CBC Group headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. From simple beginnings as a printer of birth and marriage certificates, C.R. Gibson has grown into a memory book, social stationery and gifting powerhouse operating four unique brands under its umbrella: Markings® journals, photo books and stationery; Tapestry® scrapbooking and craft products; Creative Papers® fine stationery; and iota® stationery and gifting essentials. C.R. Gibson products are available today at over 10,000 gift retailers in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.

With millions of baby books sold and thirty-three U.S. presidents in office since its inception, C.R. Gibson continues to build on the core values that have successfully guided the company over the years. The foundation of creative, innovative and quality product development started by the Gibson family continues today. The company and its brands are constantly reinventing themselves to bring quality retailers and consumers the product solutions they need today and tomorrow.

The Gibson family, including four ambitious brothers, originally from York, England, settled in the U.S. in 1850 and started the Gibson Company. Printing was the family business, so they brought with them a French handpress to jumpstart their new lives and business opportunities in America. A young nephew, Charles Robert Gibson guided the burgeoning business through the Civil War period and after several key acquisitions renamed the business C.R. Gibson Company.

From a meager start in Norwalk, Connecticut to enlarged facilities in Nashville, Tennessee, C.R. Gibson continues to lead the industry in stationery products that are distinctive and on trend.

Creative Brands, founded in 1948, is a distribution, importing and manufacturing firm with nine distinct catalogs selling to an assortment of retailers across the world.

Our family of gift brands include Santa Barbara Design Studio, Slant Collections, Bella Sleep + Spa, Stephen Baby, 47th & Main, Faithworks, Cole Wheeler, P. Graham Dunn and The Gift Wrap Company

Paul DiGiovanni, President of Creative Brands, said, “We are thrilled to be a part of the future direction of this wonderful brand. The C.R. Gibson team have combined vision and hard work to build this unique stationery and gift brand, and we look forward to offering their exclusive grouping of quality paper and gift products to our new combined customer base.

Creative Brands is a wholly owned subsidiary of CBC Group headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona with manufacturing facilities, a call center, and a distribution center in Lewisburg, TN along with sourcing teams in China and India.
