Highland Copper Updates on a Michigan State Grant and Other Catalysts for Its Copperwood Project

12:11 PM EDT, 07/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Highland Copper ( HDRSF ) on Wednesday said its 100%-owned Copperwood Project in Michigan continues to make significant progress toward a near-term construction decision.

The company said the Copperwood project is under consideration for a $50 million grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and is awaiting final approval from the Senate Appropriations Committee. It added that Wakefield Township, home to the Copperwood project, has taken the proactive step of directly requesting a $50 million infrastructure grant from the Michigan legislature.

Highland plans to transition into Phase 2 of its engineering program in the third quarter. Phase 2 is scheduled for completion by Q1 2026. It also remains on track to announce the final metallurgical test results before the end of Spetember.

Shares of the company were last seen up $0.005 to $0.095 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
