03:57 AM EDT, 05/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) reported Thursday it swung to a full-year loss of 106.06 Japanese yen ($0.67) from a profit of 178.93 yen in fiscal 2025.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of 109.63 yen.
Revenue for the fiscal year ended March 31 was 21.797 trillion yen up from 21.689 trillion yen a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 21.302 trillion yen.
The company said the changing environment regarding electric vehicles, especially in the US, caused it to cancel certain models and reassess its automobile electrification strategy, incurring losses and expenses of 1.048 trillion yen in cost of sales, 7.89 billion yen in selling, general, and administrative expenses, 397.87 billion yen in research and development expenses, and 124.13 billion yen in other losses.
Shares of the company were up 3.7% in premarket trading.
