04:25 PM EDT, 03/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- IPG Photonics ( IPGP ) said late Monday the local division of the Unified Patent Court in Dusseldorf has issued a decision in a patent infringement case brought by Trumpf SE & Co.
The court ruled that some uses and designs of IPG's adjustable mode beam, or AMB, lasers infringed European Patent 2,624,031, the company said.
The decision affects AMB laser products sold in Germany, France and Italy, impacting less than 1% of its total sales, according to the company.
IPG is using contingency measures to support AMB customers. Remedies available to the patent owner, including an injunction, recall and damages, may be enforced and evaluated after the required conditions have been satisfied, the company said.
IPG said it disagrees with the decision and plans to file an appeal with the UPC Court of Appeal.
