09:12 AM EDT, 05/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Kazia Therapeutics ( KZIA ) said Tuesday that it plans to expand its ongoing phase 1b clinical trial evaluating paxalisib in combination with standard-of-care therapies in patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer.

The company said that it plans to increase enrolment to 36 patients from 12 patients as it has received encouraging safety, tolerability, and clinical activity data so far.

The expanded dataset is expected to provide a more meaningful assessment of objective response rate, progression-free survival, and translational biomarkers, Kazia said.

Shares of the company were up 2.4% in Tuesday's premarket activity.
