04:32 AM EST, 11/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) supplier Foxconn has told recruiters in India to drop age, gender and marital criteria from its job advertisements for iPhone assembly workers, Reuters reported Monday, citing unnamed sources and a review of ads.
Foxconn has also ordered hirers to remove its name from job listings, the report said.
Reuters in June reported that Foxconn often excluded married women and women above a certain age from jobs at its main India iPhone factory.
Foxconn outsources hiring to recruitment firms, which have been warned to abide by standard recruitment templates provided by the company.
Apple ( AAPL ) and Foxconn did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
