07:53 AM EDT, 10/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Archer-Daniels-Midland ( ADM ) is offering free deferred pricing to US soybean farmers, allowing them to deliver the crop to its facility in Decatur, Illinois, and set the pricing later without paying for storage, Reuters reported Friday, citing a grain trader and a company employee.
The unusual move comes in the peak of autumn harvesting as farmers have held off on selling some of their crops due to low prices, putting them in storage in hopes of higher prices in the future, according to the report.
In exchange, ADM will take ownership of the soybeans for processing, the sources said.
The offer will be available to farmers until the end of October, and those who accept will have until September 2026 to set a sale price, the company source told Reuters.
ADM did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
