08:19 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The European Union will not consider any changes to its landmark rules against targeting big tech overreach during its trade negotiations with the US, Reuters reported Monday, citing comments made by an EU spokesperson at a news conference.
The Digital Markets Act seeks to rein in the power of Alphabet (GOOG), Apple ( AAPL ) , Meta Platforms ( META ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) , as well as China's ByteDance and Booking.com, while the Digital Services Act requires big online platforms to do more to curb illegal and harmful content, the report said.
"The legislations will not be changed. The DMA and the DSA are not on the table in trade negotiations with the US," Reuters quoted the EU spokesperson as saying.
