Market Chatter: Goldman Sachs Chief of Staff Contested CEO David Solomon's Support for Kathy Ruemmler
Jun 10, 2026 3:27 AM

06:12 AM EDT, 06/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Goldman Sachs Group ( GS ) chief of staff Russell Horwitz was against Chief Executive David Solomon's move to support Kathy Ruemmler despite her ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

Ruemmler is set to step down as Goldman Sach's general counsel and chief legal officer at the end of the month, but Soloman had asked her to remain in an advisory post following the resignation, according to the report.

Horwitz is also set to resign as chief of staff by the end of the month and said his resignation is not related to Ruemmler, the report said.

Goldman Sachs Group ( GS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
