01:21 PM EST, 11/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Medtronic ( MDT ) is being sued by Hexagon Health for the alleged infringement of three patents related to hernia mesh treatment devices, Hexagon Health said Wednesday.

The lawsuit claims that Medtronic ( MDT ) copied Hexagon Health's designs when developing the Dextile hernia mesh repair device and that the medical device maker continue to produce and sell the device even after the US Patent Office awarded patents to a version of the mesh that was developed by Hexagon founder Shirin Towfigh, according to Hexagon Health.

Medtronic ( MDT ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
