Metrie® Establishes Canada-Wide Industry Leadership in Interior and Exterior Door Systems and Solutions Through Acquisition of Door Assembly Assets in Eastern and Western Canada.
Apr 2, 2026 6:26 AM

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Metrie®, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, today announced an enhanced service offering to customers across Canada with the acquisition of door fabrication, hanging, and finishing assets in Eastern Canada from Northstar/TruBilt Doors, a division of Cornerstone Building Brands, and the expansion of door manufacturing and service capabilities through the purchase of additional assets in Western Canada.

With these acquisitions, Metrie is now an industry leader across North America in interior and exterior door distribution and advanced value-add services, with the ability to supply specialty door systems and solutions - including pre-hanging, pre-finishing, job-site delivery and custom solutions for complex specifications.

“Our long-term strategy is clear – we want to help drive our customers’ businesses forward through expanded advanced value-add millwork solutions and services,” commented Kent Bowie, President & Chief Executive Officer, Metrie. “As North America’s leading manufacturer and distributor of composite and solid wood mouldings and finished grade lumber, we want to also lead in interior and exterior door distribution, systems and services. This latest expansion of our service offering in Canada shows our determination to deliver. It builds on over 60 years of door experience in the Canadian market, our strength in interior and exterior door solutions in Western U.S. through Metrie EL & EL; and our recent acquisitions of the BWI, Florida Made Door, and Louisiana Millwork door distribution businesses from Owens Corning in the Eastern and Southern U.S.”

“We have had value-add capabilities on interior doors across Canada for many years; but these asset purchases will accelerate the strategic service offerings we can make to customers – across both interior and exterior door solutions,” added Ashik Bhat, Regional Vice-President, Metrie Canada. “We will have full custom capability across CNC cutting, pre-finishing, jamb preparation and sill fabrication and assembly. This means that whatever our customers need in interior and exterior doors, we will be able to fulfil. 2026 is Metrie’s Centennial; and this is what winning partnerships look like as we say, Welcome to the next 100!”
