SINGAPORE, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Citigroup ( C/PN ) has
appointed Lee Lung Nien as its Citi Country Officer and Banking
Head for Singapore, the U.S. bank said in a statement on Monday.
Lee, a 35-year Citi veteran and most recently chairman of
Citi Private Bank for South Asia since 2020, will take up the
role on Oct. 6, reporting to Amol Gupte, head of Asia South.
In his new role, Lee will oversee all Citi businesses and
operations in Singapore, driving franchise performance, managing
client and regulatory relationships, and ensuring a robust risk
and control environment, Citi said.
He succeeds Tibor Pandi, who is leaving after eight years in
Asia and will explore other opportunities within the bank,
according to the statement.
Lee is the first Singaporean in 50 years to hold Citi's top
post in the city-state, the bank said.
