07:37 AM EDT, 05/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Singapore Airlines reported on Tuesday one fatality and several injuries after severe turbulence forced an emergency landing of a Boeing 777-300ER traveling from the UK to Singapore.

The airline said it is working with Thailand authorities to provide medical assistance and sending a team to Bangkok to provide any additional assistance needed.

The incident occurred on a 16-year-old Boeing ( BA ) airplane en route from London Heathrow, with 211 passengers and 18 crew on board.

Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
