09:05 AM EST, 01/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Summit Materials ( SUM ) said Thursday that the waiting period under Canada's Competition Act for its proposed acquisition by Quikrete Holdings has expired.

Summit said the merger is expected to close in Q1, after which it will become a privately held subsidiary of Quikrete and its common stock will cease trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
