09:00 AM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is recalling 239,382 vehicles over a rearview camera issue, according to information posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website.
The NHTSA said that when the affected vehicles are powered up, a reverse current may occur, resulting in a short circuit on the car computer board and the loss of rearview camera functionality.
The auto safety regulator said the loss of such a camera display reduces the driver's rear view and increases the risk of a collision risk.
The issue affects 2024-25 Models 3 and S, as well as 2023-25 Models X and Y vehicles, the NHTSA said.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
