01:22 PM EST, 11/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- TotalEnergies (TTE) faces a criminal complaint in France by the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, which alleges the company was complicit in war crimes in Mozambique tied to a liquefied natural gas project.

The filing with France's national anti-terrorism prosecutor concerns alleged 2021 abuses by Mozambican armed forces that the rights group says were supported by the company

"The involvement of TotalEnergies with local armed forces and the gravity of allegations ought to lead to the opening of an investigation by French judicial authorities," the rights group said Tuesday in a statement.

TotalEnergies did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
