Asian Games gold-medalist Hima Das hopes campaign videos will inspire millions of youth

India’s golden girl Hima Das, who has just been signed on by German sportswear company, Adidas, as a brand ambassador, is hoping that her partnership with the brand will inspire millions of youth across the nation to take up a career in sports.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18's Farah Bookwala Vhora at the location of her first shoot at New Delhi’s CWG Sports Complex, the 18-year-old Dhing Express said Assam’s state sports policy passed by the cabinet last year, which envisages sops of Rs 1 crore and government jobs to Olympic medalists, will be a big draw to aspiring Assamese athletes.
