The cabinet recently approved a 30 percent pay cut in the salaries of top government officials, including that of the president of India, vice-president, prime minister, members of the judiciary, members of parliament among others. President of India | Basic monthly salary: Rs 5 lakh | Basic monthly salary after cut: Rs 3.5 lakh.
