As the acute currency crisis is growing day by day, Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is closely monitoring the cash situation.

The Union Finance Ministry is in touch with the states to ensure adequate supply of notes to the ATMs.
Meanwhile, Government official today told CNBC-TV18 that the Centre has started video conferencing with the public sector bank (PSB) chiefs and directed the state-run banks to fill up the ATMs immediately.
To fix the cash crunch, official said that 80% of ATMs will start functioning within a day.
State Bank of India (SBI) has assured customers that they are constantly monitoring the situation and making immense efforts to ensure the supply of currency in abundance at all ATMs.
"Availability of cash in SBI ATM has improved in the last 24 hours. Efforts are being made on a continuous basis to improve the cash availability further in a few geographies. Overall, issue of less cash should come to normalcy within soonest possible time," said Neeraj Vyas, DMD (Chief Operating Officer), SBI.
RBI is also monitoring the cash situation and has formed a state level committees for state level monitoring.
Official said that government is studying the demand pattern of some states which have taken more cash than usual in the last 4-5 months.
“1 or 2 states which have consumed much more than usual cash are being looked at separately from demand side,” official said.
As Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has come forward to assure the nation that the cash crunch will be solved soon, twitterati had a field day on the ongoing crisis. The tweets from well-known personalities to common man expressed their utter anguish.
Yesterday, RBI has clarified that there is sufficient cash in the RBI vaults and currency chests.
Even experts say that public is going back to pre-demonetisation behaviour.
