With the ongoing festive season, Amazon Pay on Thursday, October 19, introduced the option of EMI on RuPay credit cards. The move aims to make online shopping for customers convenient and affordable, the company said.

During the first 48hrs of the Amazon Great Indian Festival, the company said that EMI’s emerged as the most preferred payment mode with 1 in 4 shopping orders placed on instalments; and 3 in 4 EMI orders on No Cost EMIs.

EMI on RuPay credit cards will be on offer across eight prominent issuing banks. With EMI on RuPay credit cards customers will get increased flexibility and affordability to shop during the festive period, the company added.

Mayank Jain, director – credit and lending, Amazon Pay India, said, “The introduction of EMI on RuPay credit cards in partnership with NPCI will allow customers better access to credit, provide best-in-class value and help maximise savings. This will drive affordability and convenience of online shopping for customers across India, especially during the festive period.”

Amazon announced its highly-anticipated Great Indian Festival 2023 this month. Prime users gained early access starting from midnight on October 7th, 2023, while the sale officially kicked off on October 8th.
