Jeevan Pramaan Patra submission deadline is tomorrow, Nov 30 — what if you miss the window?
Nov 29, 2023 8:27 AM

The deadline to submit 'life certificate' or 'Jeevan Pramaan Patra' for government pensioners is November 30, 2023. This certificate serves as proof of life, a prerequisite for the continuous disbursal of pensions to approximately 69.76 lakh central government pensioners, along with numerous others under state governments and affiliated institutions.

For both central and state government pensioners, adherence to the deadline is vital to ensure the uninterrupted flow of pension payments. Pensioners can visit bank branches, opt for doorstep banking services, or use the Jeevan Pramaan app for online submissions.

Consequences of missing the deadline

In case a pensioner misses the deadline due to any reason, including technical issues, the pension payment for the subsequent month(s) will be halted until the life certificate reaches the Central Pension Processing Centres (CPPC) of the relevant authorities.

Reactivating payments

However, there is recourse for those who miss the deadline. Once the life certificate is submitted, the pension, along with any arrears, will resume on the subsequent pension processing cycle.

Resolution for delays or issues

In cases where the pension disbursing agency causes delays or issues in updating the life certificate, pensioners have channels for redressal. Approaching the bank's pension-paying branch or the banking ombudsman can help resolve grievances related to the delay or non-updation of certificates.

Handling rejections

In the event of rejection, pensioners can reach out to the Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA). Rejection usually occurs due to incorrect particulars provided during the generation of the digital life certificate. Generating a new life certificate with accurate information and biometrics rectifies the issue.

Three-year deadline

If the life certificate remains unsubmitted for three years or more, the process involves obtaining specific orders from the competent authority via the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) for resuming pension disbursal.
