Research Alert: CFRA Maintains Buy Opinion On Shares Of Semtech Corp.
Mar 14, 2025 8:19 AM

11:05 AM EDT, 03/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:

We keep our 12-month target at $45, on a P/E of 21x our FY 27 of $2.14, which is below peers. This is also below the five- and ten-year historical forward average of 33.5x and 32.4x, respectively, given recent challenges tied to CopperEdge but think concerns are overblown. We increase our FY 26 (Jan.) EPS estimate to $1.65 from $1.37 and FY 27 to $2.14 from $2.00. We believe that SMTC remains engaged with over twenty potential customers on CopperEdge, including hyperscalers, switch makers and cable suppliers for a number of use cases and expect these engagements to result in revenues from multiple customers and applications by the latter part of FY 26. In addition, LoRa-enabled solutions (now 15% of sales) is the other key product line that we see generating greater momentum and driving upside to expectations, which in the Jan-Q rose 28% sequentially and more than tripled on a year-over-year basis. We do note that geopolitical pressures are a major uncertainty and could put cold water on the recovery.
