Block to Join S&P 500 Wednesday; Shares Jump Pre-Bell

05:03 AM EDT, 07/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Block (XYZ) will join the S&P 500 index, effective Wednesday, replacing Hess, S&P Global (SPGI) division S&P Dow Jones Indices said late Friday.

Chevron ( CVX ) has acquired Hess in a deal that closed Friday.

Block shares were up 9.2% in recent premarket activity Monday.
