Budget 2019 will focus on growth revival, rural economy, says BOBCAPS
Jun 11, 2019 1:45 AM

Ratnesh Kumar, MD & CEO of BOB Capital Markets (BOBCAPS), is of the view that the stock rally that was driven by Lok Sabha election results outcome is now over and the focus of the market will be back on the fundamentals.

When asked about fair value for the market, he said, "There would be a rally in the second half after the market absorbs the recent rally and consolidates for a few months."

"The focus of the upcoming Budget would be on the revival of growth than any particular sector. So there would be higher spending on infrastructure, focus on the rural side of the economy. The focus would be on extending the social schemes", said Kumar in an interview with CNBC-TV18. “Budget is likely to be more significant for broader macro as a whole than any specific stock,” he added.

On the fiscal deficit front, Kumar said, "The GST collections have been good. You have had disruptions mainly because of NBFC issues in sectors like autos but the fiscal deficit is less of an issue but getting growth back on track is more of an issue."
