Closing bell: Sensex ends 145 points higher, Nifty settles above 11,000##Closing bell: Sensex ends 145 points higher, Nifty settles above 11,000

The BSE Sensex ended 145 points higher or up by 0.40 percent at 36,496 on Friday, reversing trends from the last two days, while the Nifty ended above the 11,000 mark, at 11,010, rising by 53 points, or 0.48 percent. Bajaj Auto fell nearly 10 percent, while other two Bajaj group financial stocks were among top gainers.

Bajaj group financial firms hit record highs on strong results##Bajaj group financial firms hit record highs on strong results

​Shares of non-banking financial firm Bajaj Finserv and unit Bajaj Finance Ltd climb 5.7 percent and 6.7 percent respectively to all-time highs.

Kotak Institutional Equities raises TP for Bajaj Finserv to Rs 6,100 from Rs 5,900 to factor in higher value of Bajaj Finance, but downgrades to “reduce” from “add.”

Bajaj Finserv posted 41 percent surge in consolidated Q1 profit on Thursday.

Jefferies raises TP for Bajaj Finance to Rs 2,900 from Rs 2,400; keeps “buy” rating. Bajaj Finance posted another strong quarter and its core fundamentals are intact, said Jefferies. Bajaj Finance reported 81 percent surge in June-quarter consolidated PAT on Thursday.

Valuations appear steep for Bajaj Finance, but this may sustain unless growth slows or asset quality slips, which is unlikely in near term - Jefferies.

Stocks among top percent gainers on Nifty 50 Index. Shares of Bajaj Finance had gained 43 percent this year as of last close, while Bajaj Finserv had risen 20.4 percent. (From Reuters)

Benchmark indexes shed gains in the afternoon trade with the Sensex trading higher by 84 points, or 0.23 percent, to 36,435.12, while the Nifty is up by 29 points, or 0.26 percent, to 10,985.80. Midcaps are still higher with the Nifty MidCap rising by 0.6 percent. The BSE MidCap is higher by 0.46 percent. Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv lead the pack of Nifty gainers, followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and L&T. Vedanta, OMCs and ONGC are among the top losers on the NSE. On the BSE, Infosys, L&T, Reliance, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, Adani Ports, Axis Bank are trading higher, while Vedanta, ONGC, HDFC twins, Kotak Bank, Power Grid, Yes Bank are trading lower.
