Crude oil prices to remain volatile in short term: XM Australia

Crude oil prices have corrected by 4-5 percent post USA's plan to release major reserves from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Also the China lockdown, OPEC meeting and the IEA emergency meeting have all contributed to the fall.

To discuss the road ahead for crude, CNBC-TV18 spoke to Peter McGuire, CEO of XM Australia.

Gold prices in India traded flat on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) Tuesday tracking a muted trend in the international spot prices as the dollar rebounded. Silver prices gained. At 11:25 am, gold futures for June delivery rose 0.09 percent to Rs 46,460 per 10 grams as against the previous close of Rs 46,419 and the opening price of Rs 46,450 on the MCX. Silver futures traded 0.22 percent higher at Rs 66,272 per kg. The prices opened at Rs 66,247 as compared to the previous close of Rs 66,128 per kg.
