Broad-market exchange-traded fund IWM rose 3.1% and IVV fell 0.9%. Actively traded Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) fell 2.1%.

US equity indexes traded mixed as government bond yields slumped after the headline annual inflation rate in June retreated for the third straight month.

Energy

iShares US Energy ETF (IYE) added 0.8% and Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) rose 0.6%.

Technology

Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) fell 2.2%; iShares US Technology ETF (IYW) and iShares Expanded Tech Sector ETF (IGM) dropped.

SPDR S&P Semiconductor (XSD) declined 1% and iShares Semiconductor (SOXX) dropped 2.8%.

Financial

Financial Select Sector SPDR (XLF) added 0.4%. Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) rose1.3% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) lost 1.2%.

Commodities

Crude was up 0.4%; United States Oil Fund (USO) gained 0.1%. Natural gas fell 2.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) dropped 2.1%.

Gold was up 1.8% based on Comex, and SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) added 1.8%. Silver climbed 2.1% and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) advanced 1.7%.

Consumer

Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP) lost 0.3%; Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) and iShares Dow Jones US Consumer Goods (IYK) rose.

Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (XLY) fell 1.2%; retail fund VanEck Vectors Retail ETF (RTH) eased and SPDR S&P Retail (XRT) gained.

Health Care

Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) rose 0.6%; iShares US Healthcare (IYH) and Vanguard Health Care ETF (VHT) climbed, and iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 2.3%.

Industrial

Select Sector SPDR-Industrial (XLI) gained 1.1%, and iShares U.S. Industrials (IYJ) and Vanguard Industrials (VIS) rose.
