Market expert Anand Tandon in an interview to CNBC-TV18 shared his views on the outlook for the market and some sectors/stocks.
Tandon said, "Market is in a range where normal earnings expectation being met is not good enough because the correction has played out and index levels are back to where they were in January. From here on, for the market to take a lead, the earnings numbers have to be exceptionally good but none of them have been stellar so far."
According to him, the fall is more severe in midcap stocks than largecap names. The reason for the fall could either be large scale profit booking or large scale selling by big fund.
From long-term view, he is positive on trade based companies like container freight station (CFS), ports etc., which are trading cheap and credit rating agencies.
