“It is going to be an interim Budget, we are not expecting much. But still we are looking into the customs duty and the banking headache which every jeweller is going through across the country," said Padmanabhan.
Talking about the domestic council,Padmanabhan said, “Domestic council is yet to be formed, they have formed the Ad hoc committee and they will be looking into the elections and it will take another two months for the new committee to come into play. Till then we are here to serve for the industry. At GJC we have been interacting with the government body for the relaxation in customs duty and we have been behind them for the last five years and nothing is happening.”
He further added, “Off late last one and one and a half year after Nirav Modi’s episode and all that banking has totally become negative on this industry. We are struggling a lot.”
