The market is keenly watching the outcome of the closely fought battle between incumbent US President Donal Trump and the challenger Joe Biden.
“On the US elections, I think enough has been said, but from the emerging markets’ standpoint or from India’ standpoint, history has shown that what really drives flows into this part of the world is really the fundamental outlook of this part of the world,” Shiv Puri, Founder and Managing Director of TVF Capital Advisors said in an interview to CNBC-TV18.
“We know that rates are low and they are likely to remain low as till 2023 so there is plenty of liquidity. There is plenty of liquidity regardless of who wins the elections, but for India’s case specifically it is really going to depend on when growth comes back,” he said.
“The one changes versus the previous time for foreign investors would be that this time they will want to see growth comes back first before the funds flow versus in the past when a lot of time capital has flowed in, in anticipation of growth,” Puri said.
