Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed in Afternoon Trading

01:41 PM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed Thursday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.4% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) shedding 0.3%.

In corporate news, Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) on Thursday disclosed a new corporate structure aimed at unlocking additional shareholder value amid an "evolving media landscape." Shares jumped more than 15%.

Splash Beverage ( SBEV/WS ) shares rose 9.5% after the company said Thursday it signed a distribution deal with wine retailer Total Wine & More for its Pulpoloco sangria.

Lovesac ( LOVE ) shares plunged 27% after the company reported a wider fiscal Q3 net loss and lower net sales for the period. The company also lowered its fiscal 2025 outlook.
