08:50 AM EST, 01/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks rose premarket Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently advanced by 0.6%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 9.3% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.5% higher at $74.31 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.5% to $76.89 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 9.2% at $3.66 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
DHT Holdings ( DHT ) shares were up nearly 1% after the company said it has bought about 1.5 million of its shares at an average price of about $8.89 per share in December.
