09:05 AM EST, 01/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks declined premarket Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) fell by 0.3% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 4.1% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.5% at $74.25 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.5% to $77.13 per barrel. Natural gas futures were down 4.6% at $3.290 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Diversified Energy ( DEC ) shares were over 3% higher after the company said it has agreed to purchase Maverick Natural Resources, an EIG portfolio company, for approximately $1.28 billion.
