09:27 AM EDT, 10/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.4% lower recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.9% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 0.6% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.3% lower at $70.84 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 1.3% to $75.05 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 0.5% at $2.322 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
NextEra Energy Partners ( NEP ) shares were down nearly 8% after the company reported a Q3 loss of $0.43 per diluted unit, swinging from earnings of $0.57 a year earlier.
Baker Hughes ( BKR ) shares were nearly 2% lower after the company reported a Q3 revenue of $6.91 billion, up from $6.64 billion a year earlier but still missing the $7.20 billion average forecast from analysts polled by Capital IQ.
