Sector Update: Energy Stocks Decline Premarket Wednesday

09:22 AM EDT, 07/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were declining pre-bell Wednesday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) was down 0.3% recently.

The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.3% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was down nearly 4%.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.3% higher at $69.39 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.3% to $71.87 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 2.8% lower at $3.054 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Hess Midstream ( HESM ) shares were up nearly 3% after the company posted higher Q2 earnings and revenue.

Scorpio Tankers ( STNG ) stock was nearly 2% higher after the company reported Q2 adjusted earnings and time charter equivalent revenue that exceeded analysts' expectations.
