09:10 AM EST, 02/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing premarket Friday, with The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) 0.3% higher.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was 0.6% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was up 0.5%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.7% at $71.07 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.6% to reach $74.75 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 0.7% at $3.38 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Centrus Energy ( LEU ) shares were up 13% pre-bell Friday after the company overnight posted Q4 adjusted earnings and revenue that topped analyst expectations.
Marathon Petroleum (MPC) said Thursday it priced a $2 billion underwritten debt offering. The company's stock was 0.5% higher in recent Friday premarket activity.
Prairie Operating ( PROP ) said Friday that it agreed to acquire certain assets from Bayswater Exploration and Production and its affiliated entities for about $602.8 million. Prairie has also launched an underwritten public offering of its common stock for $200 million. The company's shares were down 18% pre-bell.
