01:30 PM EDT, 08/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were in the red in Monday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index falling 2.4% and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) dropping 2.2%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 2.2%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) slumped 1.5%.

Bitcoin (BTC-USD) tumbled 6.2% to $54,520, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was little changed at 3.79%.

In corporate news, Charles Schwab ( SCHW ) shares were down 1.3% as it said Monday afternoon it has resolved a technical issue that caused some customers to have trouble logging in to their accounts earlier in the day amid a global stock selloff.
