03:39 PM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were slipping late Thursday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index shedding 0.5% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) down 0.9%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 2.4%.

In corporate news, First Wave BioPharma ( FWBI ) shares plunged nearly 21% after the company said it has bought ImmunogenX in an all-stock deal.
