03:31 PM EDT, 09/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks edged higher late Friday afternoon with the NYSE Health Care Index edging up 0.1% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) gaining 0.2%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.9%.

In corporate news, an upcoming Health and Human Services report is expected to suggest that the use of Kenvue's ( KVUE ) Tylenol by pregnant women may be linked to autism, The Wall Street Journal reported. Kenvue ( KVUE ) shares fell 10%.

United Therapeutics ( UTHR ) has a clear path for additional revenue of $5.4 billion from Tyvaso by 2033 following positive results in a clinical trial for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Oppenheimer said, raising its price target on the stock to $575 from $510. United Therapeutics ( UTHR ) shares gained 4.9%.

The World Health Organization added Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) Ozempic and Eli Lilly's ( LLY ) Mounjaro to its list of essential medicines. Novo shares fell 1.7%, and Lilly dropped 2%.

BioNTech (BNTX) shares jumped 8.6% after the company and China's Duality Biologics said their phase 3 trial evaluating trastuzumab pamirtecan in people with a type of breast cancer met its primary endpoint in an interim analysis.
