01:41 PM EDT, 04/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) decreasing 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) up 1.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 0.2%.

In corporate news, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) said Monday that its Arizona unit agreed to preliminary terms with the US government to receive up to $11.6 billion in grants and loans, as the Taiwanese chipmaker looks to expand its semiconductor production facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. Its shares added 1.7%.
