The Philadelphia Semiconductor index advanced 3.6%.
In corporate news, Salesforce ( CRM ) agreed to buy Informatica ( INFA ) for $8 billion as the customer relationship management platform aims to bolster its AI offerings. Salesforce ( CRM ) shares rose 1.7%, and Informatica ( INFA ) gained 6.2%.
