03:53 PM EDT, 08/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed in late Wednesday afternoon trading, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) decreasing 0.1% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 1.5%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index advanced 0.8%.

In corporate news, Apple ( AAPL ) is planning an AI comeback with a slew of new devices including robots, a lifelike version of Siri and home-security cameras, Bloomberg reported. Apple ( AAPL ) shares added 1.9%.

Sapiens International ( SPNS ) shares surged 44%. The company agreed to be acquired and taken private by private equity firm Advent for $2.5 billion in cash.

Oracle (ORCL) reduced staff in its cloud division to curb costs while investing heavily in AI infrastructure, Bloomberg reported. Oracle shares fell 4.3%.

Webtoon Entertainment ( WBTN ) shares soared 83%, a day after the company announced plans to offer more than 100 comics on its mobile vertical-scroll format under a multiyear collaboration with Walt Disney (DIS).
