Sector Update: Tech Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Monday

09:06 AM EDT, 03/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were mixed pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 2.3% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF ( XSD ) 2.3% lower.

Elliott Investment Management has amassed a multibillion-dollar stake in Synopsys ( SNPS ) and intends to engage with the chip-design software maker to push the business to make more money from its software and services, news outlets reported, citing unnamed sources. Shares of Synopsys ( SNPS ) were up more than 3% premarket.

WeRide ( WRD ) stock was up more than 9% after the company reported a narrower Q4 net loss as revenue increased during the period.

Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) is in discussions to sell 10,000 artificial intelligence accelerators to South Korean startup Upstage, Bloomberg News reported, citing Upstage Chief Executive Sung Kim. AMD shares were up more than 2% pre-bell.
