04:02 PM EDT, 10/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Most major digital assets dipped late Tuesday, with bitcoin (BTC-USD) also weaker but holding above the $67,000 level.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 126 digital assets, fell 0.5% in the past 24 hours. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.1%, the S&P 500 was little changed, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.1%.
Bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency, lost 0.5% at $67,495 with a 24-hour trading volume of $32.7 billion, down 17%, according to CoinMarketCap data.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, fell 2% to $2,628.
BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, shed 0.7%, while Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, rose 0.6%.
XRP (XRP-USD) lost 2.4%, and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) dropped 2.6%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) advanced 1.3%.
The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.204%, up from Monday's close of 4.18%, while the five-year yield closed at 4.005%, up from 3.972%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry decreased 0.6% in the past 24 hours to $2.33 trillion. Total trading volume shrank 16% to $77 billion.
